EMPLOYMENT & VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES Would you like to work for UPVAA? We operate from a beautiful station in Pennsburg where we maintain a fleet of three modern ambulances and a special service unit. Our employees continuously strive to learn, improve, and set a high standard for emergency prehospital care. The best job candidates should possess not only the necessary clinical skills and street experience but also demonstrate what cannot be taught at school: good moral character and excellent work ethic combined with the ability to operate as a team member.
AND STUDENTS! Due to our station’s lower call volume and ample space, it is a great place to study and complete homework.
What about volunteering? We also have volunteer opportunities! Our volunteers are EMS certified and work along side of our employees. Volunteering is also a great way for new or inexperienced EMS providers to gain street experience and develop their skills.
RIDE-ALONG OPPORTUNITIES Would you like to see how EMS works? We have ride along opportunities where you can join the ambulance crew on calls and see the front line of medicine. No EMS experience is needed! Lots of our ride-alongs are contemplating or preparing for a career in healthcare or are currently employed in the healthcare industry (nurses, pharmacists, etc) but would like to see firsthand the unique EMS environment.
